Our Social Commitment
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 5:16 KJV
Sustainable Water Provision
Water is a fundamental need and at Agro Kings we believe that access to potable water is a right. We are currently working to ensure that the community we operate in has access to clean water by setting up water filtration systems at various stations to filter some of the rain water and river water for their consumption.
Also we have constructed about a 50 km long man made canal to bring water closer to the people as well as to aid in irrigating the farms.
Sanitation for Improved Health
Agro Kings makes sanitation a priority in its responsibility to the community. The Kasunya and Nyapienya communities are faced with many sanitation challenges especially; the presence of good toilet facilities. Agro Kings is currently constructing an 8-seater modern toilet facility for the community. This was commissioned at the end of Q2 2021. We intend to build about 4 of such within the afore-mentioned communities, that will serve over 500 people in the community.
Agro Kings’ commitment to improved climate led us to use boundary planting as an approach to its climate action. This crucial commitment in the short term will sequester carbon in a shorter amount of time. This is to conserve the soil’s nutrients, prevent soil erosion, serve as wind barriers and to reduce the greenhouse effects on the community.
We are also utilising renewable energy sources like the sun and water resources to drive our operations through our solar powered facilities and recyclable water systems which is safer for the environment than other alternatives.
We are committed to women empowerment. In doing so, our goal is to have all our tractors operated by women as we have identified them to be better caretakers of the machines compared to their male counterparts as proven by our experiences and studies worldwide.
Also, our management team is made up of over 60% females.
We give preference to our female outgrower farmers through our skill training programs and equip them with the required inputs and financial assistance for farming.
The core of Agro Kings operations is to ensure that there is financial liberty through rural employment and empowerment. Through our operations, we have empowered over 100 small holder farmers and employed over 1000 people along the entire value chain. Our movement into these rice communities has led to an increase in income to these small holder farmers by over 40%.
